Mongkok of Kowloon West

My first two days in Kowloon West were spent strolling around Tsim Sha Tsui TST, without any itinerary plans and definitely nowhere to go. Two days were a routine of walking around with my friend Arene, going to the supermarket to shop for food and eating at McDonalds and KFC. It was fun getting lost in HK in the middle of nowhere 'cos amazingly you won't really get lost in the city as the transportations are tourist friendly. In our travails of lazily trying to find a hole-in-the-wall restaurant we ended up going to Mong Kok, one of Hong Kong's liveliest districts that includes popular markets, shopping streets, stalls and malls, a mixture of old and new multi-story buildings, with shops and restaurants at street level and commercial or residential units above.
As soon as we embarked off the bus, extreme heat evoked languid feeling so we ended up eating at the first restaurant that caught our eyes. All the tables were customized were you can find the utensils and condiments  in a drawer slid under.
I forgot the name of the restaurant, the staff though they do not speak english were very hospitable. The drinking water served to every customers was hot as in chinese medicine, they believe that drinking cold water will drain your energy because your body will have to use energy to warm it up. Where if you drink hot water, it helps aid in digestion, breaks down the fatty things you consume, and prevents heart attacks.
The usual, I won't eat before I take photos of my foods. Too hopped up on happiness of seeing my dishes I never give a rats ass about remembering the name of what I eat. All I can remember was the pork was ovened and fried and it comes with a hot lemon juice, appetizing for 65 HKD :)

Hoagie The Philadelphia Style

I first have known of hoagie from reading the biography of Gia Marie Carangi (January 29, 1960 – November 18, 1986) who was originally from Philly. Her dad owned a sandwich shop and Gia used to help her dad together with her brothers serving hoagie. The term hoagie originated in the Philadelphia area. The Philadelphia Evening Bulletin reported, in 1953, that Italians working at the World War I–era shipyard in Philadelphia, known as Hog Island where emergency shipping was produced for the war effort, introduced the sandwich, by putting various meats, cheeses, and lettuce between two slices of bread. This became known as the "Hog Island" sandwich; shortened to Hoggies, then the "hoagie".

First international franchise from the makers of the original Philly Cheesesteak sandwich in California just along Amorsolo.

Philadelphia is the largest city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It is known for its arts and culture. The cheesesteak and soft pretzel are emblematic of Philadelphia cuisine, which is shaped by the city's ethnic mix and developed by German and Italian immigrants.

The Cheese Steak Shop uses also the same rolls from Amoroso’s Bakery as well as peppers  imported from Philadelphia. Most of the ingredients are imported from the US, among them the steak meat, the white American cheese, and the sweet and chili peppers from Delaware.

The cheese inside was totally hot, chewy and cheesy

This was the first time I ate at Cheese Steak with my friend Arene during my 22nd birthday.

Eduvigis with Daddy

When I was younger, my dad would sometimes take a halt from cooking and take me and my mom to Hacienda Inn for dinner. I have loved that place since I was just a kid. They serve good food and offer a superb dining experience at night, the place actually turns from an ordinary restaurant in the morning to a hotel-like dinner place during the night with live bands, dim light and professional service. But that was over a decade ago, the last time I went to Lucena, hacienda inn doesn't hold night banquet anymore. Instead, my dad took me to Eduvigis which according to him is a cool place where local people hang out and eat.

Outside the resto were tables set up for people who wants to smoke and inhale the smoke coming from others cigarette. There was a band performance that night so the outside of the resto looked like a typical bar for people who wants to drink.
I preferred it inside than to smell of smoke outside. I ordered cheese quesadilla and tacos. The garlic mayo was awesome but the quesadilla tasted bland and cold.

Chicken cordon bleu was perfect even the sauce was very savory

Me and my Dad
Wow, the cake looked so nice but when I started to eat it it was like eating a soft stone lol I didn't even bother to caffeinate instead I ordered a refreshment that was served with a dead mosquito in it. :(
