Cheese Steak with my favorite mortals

Ahhhh, how I craze and crave for greasy foods loaded with cheese. Cheese steak is an american diner just along Amorsolo that we often visit for a snack.

Hoagie, i love you so much. Every bite gets me high I could finish a whole of this, but it's better to share since the price is too lofty

In my present life, I truly miss my besties, the food adventures and last minute getaways. True friends are never apart, maybe in distance but not in heart.

Mongkok: Chopsticks please!

It was my best friend's official last day at work, and we decided to celebrate it together over a Chinese food dinner while contemplating on life's what-ifs and must-have-been.
On our way to Greenbelt

Mongkok's rice with mushrooms. Had I known it was this saucy I wouldn't have ordered it. I don't like too much sauce in my food. But it was still appetizing though.

Xiaolongbao is a type of steamed bun or baozi from the Jiangnan region of China, especially Shanghai and Wuxi. It is traditionally steamed in small bamboo baskets, hence the name (xiaolong is literally small steaming basket).Xiaolongbao are often referred to as soup dumplings or simply dumplings in English.

In the pantheon of Chinese cuisine, few foods inspire as much passion as xiao long bao. Begin your Chinese meal by ordering the famous XLB, which very few Chinese restaurants serve. Often referred to as ‘soup dumplings’, which actually is a steamed bun wherein the soup is right inside the bun.

The question is: how did they get soup inside the dumpling?
Answer: The soup is solidified & added in lumps to the filling – this will then melt & form soup when the dumplings are steamed.

But for the less fanatic, the pursuit of XLB is simply about theater and sensory pleasure; the faintly sweet scent of hot bamboo as the steamer basket (the long in xiao long bao) arrives, and the dramatic whoosh of steam as the lid is lifted, revealing an array of symmetrically swirled sachets. Then, the best part: the heavy sag of the dumpling as you carefully maneuver it to your porcelain spoon, the tangy whiff of vinegar, and the burst of soup in that first bite.

很好吃!很香! (hen3 hao3 chi1!hen3 xiang1)!
Translation: "It's very yummy! Or it tastes great!"

Eating Xiao Long Bao is indeed an art which has a specific technique to it: with your porcelain spoon, be guided as follows, to eat and dip in its specialty sauce:

1 Hold chopsticks in your right hand and a spoon in your left.
2 Take the bun out of the bamboo basket and dip it in a soy sauce with ginger.
3 Put the bun on the spoon and bring it together with the chopsticks close to your mouth.
4 Bite a small hole in the bun's edge and place it back in the middle of the spoon.
5 While the soup flows out on the spoon, lift up the bun with the chopsticks.
6 Wait few seconds for the soup to cool off and then drink it.
7 After that you can dip the bun in the sauce again, if you like, it's optional.
8 Eat the xiaolongbao in one or two bites and enjoy the delicious flavor.

Mongkok's serving is bigger and affordable compared to other Chinese restaurants. Judging from the taste of their dishes I still prefer Mann Hann.

Italiannis, home of great food

It was hard living independent away from my mom and dad. You don't get a hearty breakfast cooked by your daddy before going to school or work and you can't enjoy a home cooked meal with a great conversation with your family. But on the other hand, you get to encounter different foods in different restaurants in search for something that would remind you of home and at the same time take you to a new gastronomic adventure without getting maudlin thinking about not being with your loved ones. And that's why I love Italiannis so much, cozy place, right prism and blend of light, place with a homey effect and music-like loud noises of mortals.

Watermelon shake prepared with perfection. The familiar taste of watermelon turned into something extraordinary, sweet beyond prediction.

Starbucks at Fullerton Road

This place is daily baked  by the sun, with thick and warm air coming from a remarkable river view. Vibrant morning in here would give you a total relaxation, with beautiful birds just around peacefully mingling with seething tourists. At night the place turns elegant with the lights all over and with the elusive view of the Marina Bay.

This is my favorite spot, it was such an infallibly serene and vigorous hot afternoon while sipping Starbucks' hot coffee
Aside from the rich aromatic hot coffee, awesome taste of peppery pie delighted my afternoon
The cigarette butts are not mine. I don't smoke.

The boardwalk around the bay is beautiful. It shows you numerous differing architectural styles and creates a unique image and attraction.

Mexicali Tex-Mex

Times spent with true friends are really priceless, and eating or exploring new food craze is more fun when you are with a great company.

It was really hot and we had no time to spare to look for a new place to eat. And since we were both hungry we wanted something that would suffice our growling tummy. Tired of typical American, Filipino and Chinese food, Mexicali rung a bell in our heads.

Me and my bestfriend at MOA with the dramatic light coming from the sunset.

Mexilcali serves mexican food. Mexican cuisine is as complex as any of the great cuisines in the world, but it is primarily a fusion of Mesoamerican cooking created mostly with ingredients native to Mexico as well as those brought over by the Spanish conquistadors.

Arroz a la cubana, also called arroz cubano, literally "Cuban-style rice"
Served with white rice with tomato sauce and a fried egg. Sometimes this dish is also served with a fried plantain ("banana" in Spanish).
Nachos or tortilla chips (totopos) covered in nacho cheese or melted shredded cheese. First created circa1943 by Ignacio "Nacho" Anaya, the original nachos consisted of fried corn tortillas covered with melted cheddar cheese and sliced jalapeño peppers.

Mom & Tina's Brazo de Mercedes

A Swiss roll or jelly roll (or cream roll when so filled) is a type of sponge cake roll. A thin cake layer is made of flour, eggs, and sugar and baked in a very shallow rectangular baking tray, called a sheet pan. In the Philippines, it is called pianono, and has been adapted into several variations which use native flavors, such as ube and macapuno. A similar roll is the Brazo de Mercedes, Spanish for "Mercies´ arm. It however is composed of a soft meringue body and a custard core.

In Philippines, Goldilocks is famous for making my favorite Brazo De Mercedes (arms of mercedes). But one bakery cafe, Mom & Tina's makes a sweeter version of the custard cake.

A slice of brazo in the cafe is P60. So it would be more practical to buy a whole roll of this yummy cake

Yakimix @ Greenbelt3

As we enter Japanese Restaurants, we are most likely greeted with their famous 'Irrashaimase' which means welcome. Same in Yakimix Sushi and Smokeless Grill, serving buffet Eat-All-You-Can Asian cuisine food particularly Japanese food.
My favorite salmon yummmmm

I marvel at their presentation of sushi and maki

the cobwebs design since 'twas Halloween Time

Hibachi cooking, the Japanese people invented the charcoal and the hibachi grill. Most Japanese food are thin strips of meat and I like the fact that they don't use too much sauces, because I don't like foods overly dripping with sauces!Any sauce is used only to enhance the flavor and not to overpower them. The red one, surimi or crabsticks is my mother's favorite, you can buy them at supermarket for just a hundred peso per pack.

Cute Strawberry mini cheesecakes

You are lucky if you chanced the baked oysters. They are often not present
Located at 3F Greenbelt 3
Tried Yakimix for the nth time and still in 99% rave.

Note: Be sure you get your name listed for reservation and be sure you are there when your name is called.

SugarHouse

'Twas a dull and boring afternoon at school waiting for masteral class. Too stubborn to wait I just asked my friend to roam the mall and have a snack outside. The nearest by far mall from our school is Rockwell, about 5 minutes car drive distance, and so we skipped our class. :P

Bye Green Building, I'll go malling

Rattling around the mall, we noticed Sugar House which that time was not crowded, that would mean we can kibitz as much as we want without causing any disturbance to other diners.
carbonara
Chat time with my friend, if you guys want privacy choose this sugar house food parlor, the ambiance was calming and peaceful.  But their food didn't satiate my craving for a great afternoon snack :(

Only in PH:Chicken Pork Adobo Laguna Cheese Pizza

Food lounge @ RW Casino

With the onset of the viral blog with rowdy comments on Filipino food, all I can say is that the bloggers are entitled to their own opinions, after all they are just humans who just want to share their experiences and travails. But I believe that travel humbles people. They, being an experience wanderlust and proclaimed vagabond travelers should have considered the cultural aspects of the food they ate and not just the taste and appearance of it.

Filipino food is not tatty and tasteless, ipso facto:

Resorts World Manila’s (RWM) signature dish, Chicken Pork Adobo Laguna Cheese Pizza or “CPA,” is fast becoming a favorite among foreigners and locals alike for its unique Filipino taste.

A regular carbonara

The pizza, a popular dish around the world, serves as a platform to introduce Filipino adobo to the world.

A hand-tossed pizza crust is topped with strips of chicken and pork adobo that rest on a creamy layer of melted mozzarella and Laguna cheese, the latter named after the Philippine province where it originates, known for its carabao-milk soft cheese called “kesong puti” (white cheese).

Next time you visit Philippines, feel free to explore every restaurant that serves ADOBO and you'll discover the diversity that depicts the mixed cultural influence in our pinoy dishes presaged by the taste, presentation and recipe. :)

lil adventure at brittany

Located South of Manila is a distinctive castle like commercial building with great landscape design. The place is located in an area known as Brittany Estates in Alabang. It serves as the gate to Italian inspired castle like Brittany houses.

The place is serene and the view is really captivating. It would make you feel like you are in Tagaytay when in fact you are in a busy city of Manila.

College days with my best friends. The building has various restaurants available to cater great food overlooking the magnificent landscape of the estate.
Dencios restaurant, their coffee was very classy and worth the price.
